Abstract

Analysis of soil surface treatment has demonstrated that efficiency of its application, in particular shallow plowing, cultivation, harrowing, smoothing and rolling considerably depends on soil-climatic conditions which were set at definite period of crops cultivation. It is found thatsurface treatment provides soil capillarity preservation, leaves undestroyed channels made by plant roots at the end of their vegetation period, preserves structure in the fibrous soil layer which mostly influences its fertility. In the field, as analysis shows, during soil surface treatment significant variances as to its mincing with structured particles formation, in particular, inadequate clods breaking to sizes, allowable according to agrotechnical demands, take place. On the basis of technical tools for soil surface treatment analytical researches and creative search results a cultivator for soil surface treatment which provides clods breaking mostly intostructured particles with simultaneous reducing of overminced fraction was developed. Distinction of this cultivator is in the fact that sharp ring disks are directed to the blade with penetration into the depth of soil treatment and at their meeting with support surface blades split up clods into particles, mostly agrotechnically valuable for the growth of cultivated plants with simultaneous reducing of overminced fraction.
